By using Code Compare you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. The service
Code Compare is a free online tool that compares two pieces of text or code and highlights the differences. It runs in your browser, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the site for anything unlawful, or to process content you have no right to use;
- try to disrupt, overload, scrape at high volume, or gain unauthorised access to the site or its infrastructure;
- copy the site’s design, branding or code and present it as your own;
- click on ads artificially or encourage others to do so.
3. Content you submit
You are responsible for the text and code you paste or open in the tool, and for having the right to use it. Content is processed in your browser and is not stored by us, so you keep full ownership and we claim no rights to it. Please avoid pasting passwords, API keys or other confidential secrets into any online tool.
4. Intellectual property
The Code Compare name, logo, design and site code belong to [Your Name / Business Name]. The comparison editor is provided by the open-source Monaco Editor and other third-party components, which remain the property of their owners and are used under their own licences. All other trademarks mentioned belong to their respective owners.
5. No guarantee of accuracy
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. Comparison results are meant as a helpful aid. We do not guarantee that they are complete, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose, so please check anything important yourself before relying on it, for example before deploying code.
6. Third-party ads and links
The site may show advertisements and links to other websites. We do not control third-party content and are not responsible for it or for any dealings you have with advertisers.
7. Limitation of liability
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits or business, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site.
8. Changes to the service and these terms
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service at any time, and may update these terms. The date above shows the latest revision, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
